A midfielder, a graduate of Maccabi Haifa's youth academy. Refaelov began his journey at a young age and made efforts to succeed, coming from his hometown, Or Akiva.
He became a star of the youth team and excelled in the prestigious Viareggio tournament, but unfortunately, he broke his leg in one of the games. He was also part of various youth national teams. He was promoted to the senior team as a great hope but did not manage to secure a place in the starting lineup.
However, in the 2009/2010 season, he became one of the key players in the team, and his good performance did not go unnoticed by the national team coach, Dror Kashtan, who invited him to the national team.In the 2010/2011 season, he was honored when it was decided to give him the number 10 shirt, which became a sort of "prestigious symbol" in the Haifa club due to past outstanding players who wore it, such as Reuven Atar. During this season, he was absent for about two months due to a hernia surgery.
