A Senegalese defender who joined Haifa in the summer of 2022 following Bogdan Planic's departure to Dubai.
He grew up in a small town in Senegal, and at the age of 16, he still had to help support his family by working as a mechanic. He started playing in the local league at the age of 19 and changed teams until he was 22. Only through cooperation between his club, Diambars, and teams from the Norwegian league he got the opportunity to advance, and he quickly moved to Scandinavia.
During this time, he received a surprising call-up to the Senegal national team in 2013, coached by the famous Frenchman Alain Giresse, and only an injury prevented him from making his debut. In 2014, he joined Hønefoss, a modest Norwegian club from the second division, and was relegated with them. Another team, Sandefjord, signed him, and with them, he returned to the first division in 2016.
Six months later, he moved to the Belgian team Antwerp, and in the 2019/20 season, he began regularly appearing in the starting lineup, alongside former Maccabi Haifa player Lior Rafaelov. In 2022, he was called up to the Senegal national team that won the Africa Cup of Nations, although he did not play a single minute.
